There comes a time in life, and sometimes more than once, where the ground is pulled out from under your feet and you're left falling back to earth. I have had that feeling happen to me before this one, and even though I was expecting it this time, that instant, that plunge into the darkness, where your heart sinks to your feet and your throat closes, sophisticating you, that feeling, even now, never feels any better. It still aches, every time.
